Does the idea of networking freak you out? Well, it really shouldn't. Networking begins at home, what I mean is with your family members and friends. Those that know you best are really your best sales people.
Remind them often that you always have time for their referrals, and that you appreciate them. I know some people that reward family members for referrals with coffee gift cards, or a simple, yet memorable thank you card. This keeps the idea of recommending you alive in your family member's minds.
So start networking at your family events, this practice can also help polish your marketing skills and techniques.
